Last week instead of training at the park on Saturday, I headed down to Kissimmee, FL to train with my teacher at the Earth Shinto Dojo. I met Rev. Koichi Barrish at his old dojo in Granite Falls, WA over 15 years ago. From that time I would train with him as often as possible. It’s nice to be able to drive down to Florida and train with him again. Also it was the good timing to be there for the Shiwasu Oharae-shiki – final ceremony of 2024 before the new year.
It was a great chance to catch up with Sensei, get some fine tuning and instruction for new students and be in the warm company of old friends.
Looking forward to this April when we will all be invited to join together in Florida to train with Barrish-Sensei.
